How do I make a booking on Varaamökki.com?

Answer
Making a reservation is completely digital and easy. Simply choose your desired destination and dates using the booking engine on the homepage. Select Region > optional Property > Arrival/Departure > Number of persons, then click Go. Review the property description, and if you wish to book, click Add at the bottom of the page.

Next, select any additional extras, fill in your contact details, accept the booking terms, and click Continue. Provide your address information, subscribe to our newsletter if you wish, and click Continue.

Add your payment card details and click Confirm. You’ll receive a booking confirmation by email. Then it’s time to start looking forward to your holiday! We’ll send you a message eight days before your arrival with the option to order additional services, detailed arrival instructions one day before, and access instructions for your accommodation one hour before check-in.

Which payment methods do you accept?

Answer
We accept the most common payment methods, including Finnish debit cards as well as Visa and Mastercard credit cards. All payments are securely processed through Adyen, one of Europe’s leading payment providers.

How do cancellations and changes work?

Answer
We offer flexible booking and cancellation terms, which you can read in detail Here. The specific conditions for each property are shown during the booking process and can also be found in the property description. Please contact our customer service as soon as possible if you need to make any changes.

What is Varaamökki.com’s guarantee?

Answer
We guarantee that the cabin matches its description, is clean, and that your reservation is secure. Our customer service is available to assist you throughout your stay.
Please note that the main guest is responsible for the entire party during the stay, and Finnish liability laws also apply to short-term rentals. In some properties, especially during high season, we may place a temporary security hold on your credit card, similar to car rental companies.

 

Arrival and Departure

Question
When can I check in and when must I check out?

Answer
Check-in is usually from 16:00 (4 PM) and check-out by 12:00 (noon). In most properties, keys are collected from a key box—its location and code will be sent to you by text message/email on your arrival day, allowing you to arrive flexibly any time after 16:00. Many newer properties feature a smart lock, for which you’ll receive a code one hour before check-in.
Note: Smart locks often require connection to the property’s Wi-Fi router, so please do not adjust its settings or unplug it.

What should I bring to the holiday home/cabin, and how are they equipped?

Answer
Equipment varies by property, but all holiday homes include sufficient dishes and cookware, kitchen appliances, TV, heating, sauna, and usually a fireplace, air-source heat pump, and parking space.

Some properties include bed linens, towels, and final cleaning automatically—always check the property description. We recommend bringing your own food and personal hygiene products. A starter pack with essentials such as toilet paper, kitchen paper, coffee filters, and baking paper is provided.

How is cleaning handled? Can I clean the property myself?

Answer
Many of our high-quality cabins and villas include mandatory final cleaning in the rental price for your convenience. If self-cleaning is an option, it will be clearly mentioned in the property details.

 

Question
Do the cabins have Wi-Fi and/or electric vehicle charging?

Answer
Wi-Fi availability and other amenities such as EV charging points are listed in each property’s description. In Finland, charging an electric car at a cottage often requires a dedicated setup. Please always check the details before your stay—and never charge your car from a standard household socket without our permission, as it may pose a fire hazard.

Can I bring my pet?

Answer
Many of our holiday homes are pet-friendly. Always check the property details before booking if you wish to bring a pet. Some owners allow only small dogs or a limited number of pets, so please contact our customer service if you want to be sure your pet is welcome. A small one-time pet fee applies to cover the additional cleaning required.
